WIP: Creating My AR Namecard!
Conception
I was inspired by YouTube videos on how to create your own AR pop up animation from scanning the printed namecard. So I decided to make one on my own!
I am deeply inspired by animations like the amazing world of Gumball which blend 2D characters interacting with the 3D environment. I was also amazed by the possibilities of whacky cartoons that could be done in Spine2D.
So to begin, I decided to create a 2D character -- my favorite persona will be a banana, and next create 3D assets that the banana will interact with!
Process
I first created my AR namecard design, to be printed and distributed to friends!
In order to gain familiarity with the 3D AR Environment, I made a filter of my desired 3D avatar in SparkAR. I have also made a video using the filter itself.
Next, I made my desired animation: A banana flying a paper crafted ship, in idle state the banana seems happy floating in the string hanged ship. In the next state, a dangerous button-- triggered by the user pressing on it, detach the strings and the banana was surprized and fell off the ship.
What's next? I'll start importing the 3D assets into a AR environment and let the magic begins. Stay tuned for more updates!
